Our Travels
We wouldn’t feel right planning your holidays without having a few of our own under our belt. Travel isn’t just part of the job — it’s something we genuinely love. Below are a few snapshots from our own adventures, just to show we’ve walked the walk (and occasionally gotten lost along the way).
July 2025 - A No-Fly Cruise Adventure with MSC
We recently set sail on a 7-night MSC Cruises voyage, roundtrip from Southampton – a smooth, no-fly option that made boarding easy and stress-free. Our itinerary included a wonderful mix of culture, coastlines, and vibrant cities, with stops in La Rochelle, Bilbao, La Coruña, and Cherbourg.
MSC offers a truly family-friendly experience, and the ship itself was absolutely stunning, with a sleek design featuring striking chrome and glass throughout. The atmosphere onboard was lively and welcoming, with a fantastic crew who were always ready to help. Families will find plenty to keep everyone entertained — from waterslides, a high ropes course, bowling, arcade games, F1 simulators, and kids clubs, to indoor and outdoor pools with jacuzzis and plenty of sports facilities.
As we were travelling as an adult party of four, we made the most of the ship’s more relaxing offerings. We especially enjoyed unwinding in the elegant Champagne Bar, listening to live music in the adults-only Sky Lounge, and ending our days with West-End style shows in the stunning onboard theatre. It was the perfect blend of excitement and indulgence — an ideal cruise whether you’re travelling as a couple, with friends, or as a family.
January 2025 - We got married!
We love cruises. We love the sunny Caribbean. So why not get married whilst doing our favourite things?
We were taken such good care of onboard the Sky Princess, getting married in international waters near . We got to experience San Juan, Grand Turk, Amber Cove, and more!
August 2024 - Northern Europe
In August 2024, we embarked on an unforgettable journey through Northern Europe, blending maritime history, vibrant cities, and serene landscapes.
Skagen, Denmark’s northernmost point, was our first stop. We stood at Grenen, where the Baltic and North Seas meet—a truly magical sight. And a special highlight for Mr Dee’s Destinations—the resident engineering geek—was our visit to the Engine Museum (Maskinrummet Skagen). Seeing Denmark’s largest private collection of vintage engines, from stationary to marine models, and hearing some fired up was a thrilling experience!
Next, we journeyed to Copenhagen, where we explored royal palaces, wandered the colourful harbour at Nyhavn, and treated ourselves to delicious Danish pastries.
In Warnemünde, we enjoyed a peaceful day by the sea, strolling along the beach promenade and soaking up the relaxed vibe of this charming German coastal town—plus the fresh seafood was a highlight!
Stockholm dazzled us with its island scenery and rich history—we loved exploring the cobbled streets of Gamla Stan and the incredible Vasa Museum.
Tallinn felt like stepping into a fairytale, with its beautifully preserved medieval old town and enchanting skyline.
In Helsinki, we admired the modern architecture, visited the striking Rock Church, and enjoyed the city’s stylish, laid-back feel.
Visby, on the Swedish island of Gotland, was another hidden gem—its medieval walls, ruins, and cobbled lanes made it one of the most picturesque stops on our route.
Finally, we wrapped up in Kristiansand, where we enjoyed the laid-back charm, pretty harbourfront, and classic Scandinavian scenery—perfect for a relaxed farewell to the trip.
Each destination brought something different, and we returned home with memories we’ll treasure forever.
